What is a virtual companion that is also an assistant

· 1 min

A virtual companion is a character that lives in your phone: you talk to it, you look after it, it keeps you company. An assistant helps you get things done. Tuzu is both.

The companion

Tuzu has its own room and never sits still: it breathes, blinks, looks around. You feed it, play with it, put it to bed.

You choose the name: the first part, like “Mochi Tuzu”. If you disappear for a few days, it doesn’t get sad and you lose nothing.

The assistant

While you chat, Tuzu helps you: it notes appointments and birthdays, writes your shopping list, brings you five news items a day with the source.

Doctor tomorrow at 10

Done: tomorrow at 10, the doctor. I’ll remind you an hour before.

It answers questions and, when needed, searches the web and tells you the source. It looks at photos and PDFs, and prepares emails and messages: you send them, with one tap.

Why both

You ask a friend for help without thinking about it. With Tuzu it’s the same: you write the way you talk, and Tuzu remembers what you like.

Tuzu is an artificial intelligence, and always says so. It can make mistakes: for important things, double-check.
